Brief Answer:
Secondary insomnia...

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thank you for posting!

I have read your query and I understand your problem.

According to your symptoms, I think that you suffer from secondary insomnia, which may be related to the high blood pressure. Another factor that might have caused it, is stress which i would relate to panic attacks.

Diagnosis simply consists of physical examination, medical history and sleep history. You may want to keep a diary for a week or two, keeping track of your sleep patterns.

The physical examination will provide clues for any possible cause of insomnia, and the treatment of these causes should be done first.

I also think you need to see a psychiatrist.

Ask me for anything unclear.

Take care,
Dr. Behar.
