What Is The Cause And Treatment For Nasal Bleeding?

Question: Suddenly since today morning, my husband is having a strange symptom. If he bends his down his nose is watering alongwith few drops of blood. This is happening through the right nostril. And on bending itself the part around his right cheek bone is mildly aching. This has never happened before. What could be the possible reasons and remedies? Please advise soon.

Hi.
We are meeting again
I am Dr T Chandrakant and practice both the General and ENT Surgery ( MS and DLO ) and wish to guide you through.

Thanks for a clear-cut and very specific history.

I would think of Right Maxillary Sinusitis as per the history provided by you .

I would advise the following in such a patient ::
-Blood- CBC, blood sugar, urea, creatinine,
-Urine - routine and microscopy
-CT scan of he Para-Nasal-Sinuses (PNS).
-Send the nasal discharge for microscopy, gram staining , AFB staining and culture & Sensitivity.

You have to consult an ENT Surgeon ASAP so that the investigations are ordered, and ENT Endoscopy done to get the exact picture; and treatment with the most suitable Antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and oral and intra-nasal decongestants started.

The reports of the investigations and clinical findings will guide for a further course.
