The seating has eased somewhat but my wifes energy is so low that she has had tos top any activity
Investigate & consult a Chest Specialist.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
The finding that your wife's cough is relieved after pressure over manubrium of sternum , seems to be informative from acupressure point of view.It indicates the root of the problem to be bronchial.Though I am not an acupuncturist, I have noticed this effect in one of my relatives case. & so I would suggest you few things about her health care.
- Her trouble might have started with sever throat infection & descended down the air way, to cause bronchial inflammation & infection., That's why probably she was given inhaler.
I feel probably, the bacterias were not sensitive to Amoxicillin making the episode last longer.
* The bronchial involvement can be mostly due to-Allergy, bacterial infection.
- Your wife should be investigated to find out the exact cause.
Usually Complete blood count, culture & sensitivity test of sputum,
X ray test are done to differentiate. An allergy detection test is at times done to know specific allergens ,which can be avoided/ desensitization done & to get rid of allergy.
* You should consult a Chest physician for , detailed physical examination , pin pointing the cause after assessing pathological tests & his expert advise & guidance for the specific treatment.
* Bacterial bronchitis is usually treated by a course of antibiotic indicated by culture & sensitivity test, Bronchodialaters, B complex supplements, Anti allergic pills in case allergy is detected & cough syrups.
This needs to be accompanied by self care by-
- taking Rest, Avoiding exertion,
- nutritious, light diet avoiding food she is allergic to
- Nebulization if needed,
-avoiding allergens ,pollutants in atmosphere.
Please don't worry. With methodical diagnosis & management, your wife will be free of her trouble in few days.
* Chronic bronchitis/asthma patients can be managed by Acupuncture techniques..
I hope, the answer was informative/useful to you. Any further query is wecome.
Thanks.
