What Is The Cause And Treatment For Strep Throat?
Streptococcal pharyngitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS, S. pyogenes) is responsible for streptococcal pharyngitis and is usually susceptible to Amoxicillin/Clavulanate Potassium.
Alternative agent is azithromycin( Z pack) and offers the advantages of better gastrointestinal tolerability, once-daily dosing.
Because of the range of clinical presentations of streptococcal pharyngitis and the large number of other agents (Viruses)that can produce the same clinical picture, diagnosis of streptococcal pharyngitis on clinical grounds alone is not reliable. The throat culture remains the diagnostic gold standard.
Acute viral pharyngitis can cause tiredness.

Probiotic
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Potential efficacy of probiotic AAD (antibiotic-associated diarrhea) prevention is dependent on the probiotic strain(s) used and on the dosage.
Probiotic with ≥5000 million CFUs/day (including Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Saccharomyces boulardii) had 60% lower relative risk of AAD.
If probiotic taken daily by you have the similar strain and strength you need not enhance your probiotic intake while taking the course of antibiotics.
