Detailed Answer:
Hi Ms. XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query.
Can you kindly give as much details as possible about your problem, since the information provided is too vague for me to reach to a definite conclusion.
Do you mean that your foot and the back of leg (over calf muscle) is swollen? If that is so, it may be either be due to inflammation with clots formation in the blood vessels (veins) lying deeper in the leg; or, a staph infection of the tissues lying below the skin of the leg and calf muscle.
Both conditions are considered medical emergencies and need immediate treatment.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with my opinion; order required tests, and- based on the reports- will arrive at a certain diagnosis and prescribe suitable treatment as advised.
I would be eagerly awaiting details of your problems, such as your age, medical history, current medications, duration of the problem, presence of severe pain and redness..etc..
Hope I have addressed to your concerns to your complete satisfaction and you find my response helpful and informative. I will be happy to answer further queries, if any.
Fond regards and have a nice day,
Col (Dr.) Rakesh Karanwal
