Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!
I understand your concern and would explain that there are many causes underlying fluid retention: heart failure, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, low proteins.
For this reason, I would recommend performing further tests:
- a cardiac ultrasound and NT-pro BNP levels in order to investigate on possible heart failure
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalances
- kidney and liver function tests
- fasting glucose and HBA1C levels for diabetes
- Total protein and albumin plasma levels.
If all the above tests result normal, there is no reason to worry about!
Hope you will find this information helpful!
I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!

Hello again!
Thank you for the additional information!
I am glad that all your tests have resulted normal!
So, it seems that nothing serious is going on and there is no reason to worry about!
Another possible cause to consider would be lymphedema, which is a disorder affecting the lymphatic system and its drainage to the venous system.
Unfortunately in such case, there is not too much to be done, besides wearing compression socks and avoiding prolonged standing up position.
Low dose of diuretics ( furasemid) can help too).
