What Is The Consensus In The Medical Community About CBD Oil Regarding Pain Relief?

It isn't good, but it isn't bad
Detailed Answer:
There is about ZERO on any bad side effects from it. Obviously there cannot be lung problems.
First, it is not FDA approved. It can easily be made and reliably has the active ingredients. However, how much active ingredient varies about a 2 fold range even in the same manufacturer. The expiration date is probably made up. How much gets in isn't reliably known but is likely most/all of it because it is an oil, so this doesn't matter that much.
Marijuana in general and CBD in general is hardly even studied on pain.

That is for very bad pain in which the alternatives are not good.
It is not broken down into different types of pain. FOr a sore tooth, naproxen is almost certainly better. For nerve pain of shingles, lidocaine patch is almost certainly better. For disk disease, for bad joints, hard to say but the drugs generally used to treat it (narcotics or aspirin like drugs) are almost certainly riskier.
