What Is The Correct Dosage Of Coriminic Drops For An Infant?
and running nose? Pls suggest if there are other optional medicines that can be given for cough along with coriminic drops.
Viral infection likely
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. Coriminic drops contain pseudoephedrine which is used to treat nasal and sinus congestion. 10-15 drops should be the right dose for your child of 11 months. For runny nose as well as cough, Ascoril LS syrup 2.5 ml twice daily for a few days should be helpful. This is prescribed medication.
I do not feel that any other medicine is required. Antibiotics are ineffective in viral infections. Rather it would be beneficial to give the child steam inhalation. Just sit with the child on your lap and the source of steam before you. The steam will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Please note that it may take around 5-7 days to get well.
Get the child examined by a doctor
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I am sorry to hear that the condition has worsened. I assure you that it is not due to Ascoril. However you can give Wikoryl syrup instead if you like. I would strongly suggest that you visit a pediatrician who can examine the child and evaluate if nebulization is needed. The medicines that I have mentioned, need to be given for 3-5 days.
