What Is The Correlation Between Meniere's Disease And Mirena?
Question: Is there any link link between Meniere's disease and the Mirena? I have had Meniere's for about 12 years. It has gotten worse over the past few years. I had the mirena almost 3 years and had it removed a couple of days ago. And also how long til the hormones from it are out of my system?
Brief Answer:
Not related to mirena coil.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Meniere's disease can be related to abnormal immune response, allergies, viral infection, genetic predisposition, head trauma or migraines. The exact cause of the problem is not known. It is not likely to be related to the hormonal changes caused by Mirena coil.
The hormones will return to normal in next 2-3 cycles.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
