What Is The Difference Between A TIA And A Seizure?
Kepprra is not the treatment for TIA
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concern
TIA- Transient Ischemic attack- a group of symptoms due to sudden cessation of blood supply to one area of brain. The symptoms can present with weakness of one side of body or one hand or leg, inability to speak, transient imbalance while walking etc. Seizure is hyper excitation of brain and presents like either generalized convulsion (fits) or complex partial seizures (patient may loose memory, can have abnormal posturing with unawareness etc).
There is another symptoms where a patient can have episodic numbness of one side. This is the classic situation where, it may be difficult to differentiate between the two and hence we rely on investigations.
Keppra is a drug used for seizure and not TIA
