Brief Answer:
Coud be Sjogrens

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these ulcers that you have reported. Generally, non specific ulcers of the mouth(canker sores) would not be associated with symptoms of some other disease conditions. Sjogrens typically presents with dry eyes, dry mouth and joint pains. Because of the little saliva production, persons with this condition would tend to have repeated, more severe and more frequent mouth infections. I am afraid this could be what is going on with you. However, we would need to do some interrogation, testing and examinations to tell exactly what the problem could be. For this, I will suggest that you contact a rheumatologist. Herpes and lupus are unlikely given the information you have presented. During your doctor's visit, these would be easily looked into and probably ruled out.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications should need be.

I had a blood test for Sjorgens a few years ago and it was negative. I am seeing my ENT on Thursday and will ask her to retest me. So, my taking Zovirax is not recommended?

Brief Answer:
I will not recommend zoviraz at this time

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for following up with me.

Personally, I will not recommend zovirax at this time. The exact cause of these symptoms is still to be identified and managed appropriately. There is no rush in treating when it is not very typical. I will like to see some more tangible information before concluding on taking this medication.

I am happy you would see your ENT soon. I will recommend that you lay your symptoms only without suggesting any diagnosis. Let him evaluate and manage accordingly. If you think he has not thought of Sjogrens, kindly ask him to help investigate that for you.

I hope it helps. I wish you well.
