Suggestions on painless and painful vaccines
Detailed Answer:
Hi... thank you for getting back with the requested information.
Some of the recent literature suggests that sometimes the painless vaccinations on the long run may not have good immunity against Pertussis.
But this may not be entirely true also. I can tell you that in United States of XXXXXXX they have been following only Hexaxim or Pentaxim, which are painless vaccines for the past 10 years to 15 years. If the report that painless vaccines are less immunogenic is true, they would have shifted to painful vaccinations long back.
But XXXXXXX Academy of Pediatrics recommends only painful vaccines based on the literature that painless vaccines or less immunogenic.
As a pediatrician when I am administering vaccines, I give my patient's parents both the options and also put the facts before them and let the kid's parents decide on which vaccine they have to go ahead with.
If you ask my personal opinion I do not have any personal preference to either of these vaccines.
I am open to further discussion and if you have any further queries I am happy to help.
