Hello,
You were taking Cetapin XR 1000mg which has 1000 mg of metformin.
And Glimepiride 2 mg.
Now you have been prescribed Amaryl M2 which has 500 mg of metformin and glimepiride 2 mg.
So effectively, assuming you were taking single frequency if the medicine, your doctor has reduced the dose of medicine that you were taking.
So yes, effectively there is a change in the medication given.
I hope that helps.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If you compare same doses, it is unlikely to be different unless you were taking the 2 medicines at different times. Of course, it is usually also considered that taking a single tablet will help the patient stick to the therapy better than when someone takes 2 different tablets. The quality drugs of different brands is a subject of debate that cannot be effectively discussed in this forum.
Other than that there is no significant difference.
I hope that helps.
