What Is The Dosage Of Giftan For High BP?

please do not change any dosage of the anti-hypertensives..
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX , welcome to HCM..
I've gone through your query and understand the concern for your wife..
You should know that Blood pressure is a variable entity and varies due to several reasons like any kind of bodily stress, physical activities, diurnal variations and several other factors..
At first let me know since when she's on 50 mg Losartan ?
Any other medications for any other complaints ?
Also one isolated reading of blood pressure doesn't carry any significance , so in that case, you need to take a complete set of blood pressure every 2nd hrly through out the day (starting from 8 am till 12 mid night) and watch for the trend of blood pressure through out the day as it'll give you a fair idea about the trend of her BP..
Please keep in mind , while taking blood pressure, she should always be relaxed, resting, in semi-recumbent position and always take three readings of BP then get the mean out , that'll reduce the errors and give you a fairly right reading..
As of now, the particular range that you've mentioned as hypertensive patient, is reasonably alright.. Also note if she's recently being put on Giftan , then it'll take at least 48-72 hrs to take full effect, so if that's the case then you just need to wait and watch..
Let me know if there's any further queries..
Take Care
Kind Regards

Nothing to worry, however routine and timely follow-up to continue..
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back XXXXXXX thanks for following up..
Now as I've already explained in my previous answer, any kind of stressful situation (here it is the cough) can give rise to certain changes in the BP level..
So the first priority is to get her properly treated for the cough, cold with the full course of antibiotics(as already started) and then gradually start monitoring the BP as already advised..
However , I don't think that she'll be needing any immediate dose changes of Losartan..
Yes , please do so and let me know how she stays in the due course..
Also keep her Cardiologist informed , under whose treatment she's on as he/she can certainly has an upper hand in this as Clinical examination and check-ups at any time of need..
Wishing her a speedy recovery..
Take Care
Kind Regards
