What Is The Dosage Of Misoprostol And Mifepristone?

Question: Hi My wife pregnancy is unplanned 41 days preganant. We took only home pregnancy test. We decided to go for mifepristone and misoprostol kit. THe kit consists of 1 Mifepristone and 4 misoprostol. As per the instructions, my wife first had 1 mifepristone and after 26 hours she had the 2 misoprostol. Within 4 hours she had a severe stomach pain and started bleeding. My question is whether to have the other 2 misoprostol or not? Please let me know.

No there is no need of taking the next 2 tablets of misoprostol

Hi XXXXXXX I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. If she has started bleeding and pain in abdomen, then the abortion process has started. At a pregnancy of less than 49 days, the dosage of misoprosrol is 2 tablets of 200 micrograms.
There is no need of taking the rest 2 tablets of misoprostol.

Thanks Doctor. Is it necessary to do ultrasound? When will be the next period? My wife had a chance to see blood clots like tissues while bleeding. Is it bad? Please let me know

Hi XXXXXXX ultrasound is usually recommended after 15 days of medical abortion to see of the process of abortion has completed or not.
Blood clots with tissue in the bleeding is due to the products of conception coming out during the abortion process, and is completely normal.
