What Is The Dosage Of Thyronorm For Below TSH Levels?

My doctor has advised to start with 25 mcg thyronorm.. Is it correct dose?? Will it help me in losing weight??
Subclinical hypothyroidism, correct dose
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.
The lab reports you have uploaded show 2 Hormonal abnormalities
1. Sub clinical hypothyroidism- a small decrease in thyroid gland function. Normal T3 & T4 and High TSH
2. Increased prolactin
Subclinical hypothyroidism is treatable if
1. You are pregnant or planning pregnancy
2. You have a thyroid swelling ( goitre)
3. Your cholesterol is high
4. Increased anti thyroid antibodies in blood
If there is any indication for treatment you should be started on thyroxine (Thyronorm). The usual starting dose of thyroxine is 25 mcg.
The prolactin levels are also increased in Hypothyroidism. So it may come down with thyroxine treatment.
Thyroxine supplementation can result in mild weight loss.
Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you.
