Question: Hi what is the dose of meftal p for 9 year old boy weighing 30 kgs? I had given him 5ml dose at 4.45 pm.. when should the next dose be given.. his fever was 103.5 at 4.45 pm.

Thanks for writing to us
You can give 8 ml three to four times daily ( interval of six to eight hours ) for your son.
However it is better to change to paracetamol 250 8 ml every four to six hours if fever is not very high .
This is to prevent gastritis .

His fever is not going beyond 102 and durations between the fevers has increased so we have switched to crocin.. but he is complaining of headache and he has a cold. Crocin is not helping to reduce the headache.. can I give ibugesic plus as well alongside crocin? What dosage and duration. Please advice.

If the kid throws up in an hour's time of taking Meftal..do we repeat the same dose or let it be?

Better not to repeat if vomits after 5 minutes of taking medicine . Within 5 minutes if he vomits you can repeat once a while .
