Question: Pls what is the function of frenum to jaw and lip?

Their primary function is to provide stability of the upper and lower lip and the tongue. Their involvement in mastication is not really known. Soar from there they don't have any function.

For oversized labial frenum, frenectomy is done. This procedure involves cutting the frenum and then repositioning to allow for more flexibility.

The consultant takes three decision which is best for you and diastema, frenectomy done and does not produce any problem related to it in the future usually.
