Brief Answer:
Difficult to say.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It is very difficult to pin point the exact duration of a follicular cancer. This is for several reasons.
Firstly, it is of several grades from low to high. The growth rate of the cancer depends on the grade.
Secondly, sometimes follicular cancer develops in pre-existing benign thyroid lesions and in such cases, the duration can get much prolonged.
On an average, it generally takes a follicular cancer a year for it grow to this size.
Hope that answers your query. If you have any more, I will be glad to answer.
