Brief Answer:
Physiotherapy will help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
After a rotator cuff surgery, it takes 4-6 weeks for the area to heal properly. The persistent pain in the area can be due to muscle stiffness or fibrosis. It is best to start with regular physiotherapy which will help in decreasing the pain and will help in improving the range of movement and muscle tone.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
The time period can vary.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The persistent pain can be due to fibrosis and stiffness even after the healing which will gradually improve with proper physiotherapy under the guidance of a proficient physiotherapist. General exercises will not help. MRI scan can also help to detect in case there is a persistent pain. The time needed for complete recovery depends on the degree of fibrosis and the extent of exercises that you do. It can vary from 4-6 months.
