Duoluton L is a contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy. The medication contains - Levonorgestrol 0.25mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.05mg . It isn't regularly used for emergency contraception as in this case.
However, for emergency contraception kindly consult the obstetrician for pills like I pill which contains levonorgestrel (0.75mg / 1.5mg) or Unwanted 72 which contains levonorgestrel (1.5mg).
The schedule of these emergency contraception depend on the dose of levonorgestrel.

Dear Dr,
My wife has been prescribed Duoluton L.Thinking that this would help as contraception had uprotected Intercourse.Now that am on Tour she had taken Duoluton L which was prescribed for 21 days.
Now if Duoluton has to be taken what would be the dosage & whether has to be taken for entire 21 days.
Plz confirm.Nowhere in web am getting complete Info nor Product comes with Product information sheet.Plz help

There are different kinds of contraceptive pills. The one recommended by your doctor is Duoluton L tablet consisting of - ( Levonorgestrol 0.25mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.05mg) . DOSAGE - This is a combined oral contraceptive pill used as a regular contraceptive pill starting from the 5th day of the menstrual cycle continously to be taken daily (one tablet) for 21 days ( same time of the day). After 21 days , 7 days are pill free days when the withdrawl bleeding is expected. But This tablet is taken on a regular basis to prevent pregancy.
However, if she has not been taking Duoluton L and has had unprotected sex and wants to start taking it now , it will not work as it is not an emergency contraceptive pill.
I have mentioned the emergency contraceptive pills in the previous post.
Hence, i would suggest kindly consult your doctor regarding the emergency contraceptive pills mentioned earlier. However, if your wife has been taking Duoluton L as the regular regimen then chances of pregnancy is lesser even after having unprotected sex. However , the efficacy of Oral contraceptive pills can NEVER be 100%.

She had taken 1 Duoloton L thinking this as emergency contraceptive pill on 1st Feb which is within 11hrs of Unprotected Sex.
Now that you have said it will not work.Can she take Unwanted 72 as it is less than 48Hrs only.If she can take ;will that not contraindicate with Duoloton L taken Yesterday.
She has previously had Emergency pill and faced irregular periods.
