So say before your period starts does the endometrium go thin?
I did a ultra sound 12 hours before my period and endometrium measures 4.4. On thw test it stated "later" and my doctor said it was normal as 24 hrs before your peiod the endometrium thins out due to the break down of corpua luteum. Is this correct?

Brief Answer:
Yes its correct.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
During luteal phase corpus luteum produce progesterone which is necessary for fertilisation.(which also makes endometrium thick).
If the corpus luteum dies due to non -fertilisation of egg then the progesterone level falls and endometrium starts thining.
And thus menstruation occurs.
So i said that it thins just before menstruation.
Hope i helped you.
