Question: Is there a cure for Gorhams Disease of the skull and if not what is the life expectancy?

Gorham's disease has a varied clinical presentation in different individuals.
The prognosis hugely depends upon the parts of body involved and the associated complications.

Generally speaking,when only the bones of extremities are involved ,then prognosis is good and a normal life expectancy can be expected.

When bones of skull are involved with associated neurological complications,then prognosis is usually bad.

Affection of ribs and chest bones has the worst pronosis due to lung and heart involvement.

There is no permanent cure available for Gorham's disease till now.

Many medicines are under clinical trial at present and their efficacy in the treatment of this disease is still not established yet.
