What Is The Life Expectancy Of Patient With Dementia?
Question: I am wondering approximately how long of a live expectancy a person would have with Dementia. They are losing short term memory. They also have CHF and cancer of the prostate?
Brief Answer:
Persons with dementia can live for more than 10years!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about what your husband is going through. Dementia in itself doesn’t kill and most person die form other disease conditions. How long your husband can live would be determined by the stage of his prostate cancer and CHF. If they are well managed, then death is really not something for the new future. Also, most people with prostate cancer die with it rather than from it. So, this is really not easy to give a single number that responds to this.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
