Question: What is the life expectancy once you begin oxygen. I have Copd and alpha 1 antitrysin.

COPD is not a killer disease and does not directly bring down the life expectancy. The compromise of lung function might call for additional respiratory support (although simple oxygen therapy is not usually advised). There is nothing like life expectancy coming down due to your being on oxygen. If the underlying conditions can be dealt with, your life expectancy would be just fine. The only issue is that often severe infections like pneumonia act as complicating factors and if they can be controlled, it would not really be a cause for concern.
