What Is The Maximum Dosage Of Local Anaesthesia That Can Be Given For Hair Transplant?

Question: Hi Can you tell me how much local anasthetic one person can have? I am looking to have hair transplant. It is 8 hour surgery and around 25 times they will inject local anasthetic?
Brief Answer:
There really isn't a limit.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The local anesthetic most used, lidocaine has a lifespan in the body in minutes. If it is needed, say for heart trouble, it has to be continually pumped in IV at high speed. They couldn't possibly give enough injected to be even detectable in the blood. It is safe except for the effect of the needle and injection (some infection risk and it hurts a bit).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks for your answer. I need scalp anaesthetic to have a hair transplant. I do not want to have toxication from local anaesthetic I heard a patient died so it’s got me worried?
Brief Answer:
Yes, it has happened.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
My father had the same issue. But the key point is that it was NOT locally injected lidocaine. It was constantly infused CUPS of it into the bladder for a bladder operation.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
