Question: What is the normal range for sgpt and sgot ??? My sgpt is 44 and sgot is 24... Is it normal

Thanks for the query.I understand your concern.
* SGOT&SGPT are sensitive indicators of liver function.Their raised levels suggest liver damage.
* Normal range of SGOT .. is 8-45 units /per litre of blood serrum.Men naturally have higher range in their blood .So in female more than45 units &in male more than 50 units are abnormal&indicate some liver damage.
* Normal range of SGPT is 7 to 56 units /litre of blood serrum.
* So both of your levels are within normal limits.!
