Question: Couple of nights ago I was at a pick up bar where I had few drinks with a lady.
1. There was no insertive sex nor oral sex.
2. There was
. Close hugging
. Light kisses on the face and mouth
. Foreplay with clothes fully on. I had no direct hand or genital contact with the lady private parts
. Light fondling and kissing of the breasts
. Finally the lady gave me a handjob.

Given the above interaction what is the probability of hiv transmission
Do i need PEP or P24 testing

Brief Answer:
The probability of HIV transmission is extremely rare.

Detailed Answer:
Dear,

Welcome to Ask a Specialist Service.

Kissing (light or deep), foreplay, fondling or handjob are as such no risk activities for HIV transmission and there was no penetrative sex then the probability of HIV transmission is extremely unlikely or you can say nil. There is no need of PEP or testing in your exposure. Just calm down, forget the episode and live your life normally. If you have any other doubt feel free to ask me any time.

Thank You

Dear Dr Jangid
Thank You for your reassuring response.
May i check given that there was no direct genital contact of the lady with mine or even my hands, the only exception being the handjob i received, is there a possibility of any other sti.
May i check if i can resume normal relations with my regular partner or do i need to get any check ups done

Brief Answer:
I don't think there is any possibility of any other STI.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

As there was no sexual intercourse in your exposure, I don't think there is any possibility of getting any STIs and you can resume normal relations with your regular partner also because the risk is extremely unlikely. Be relaxed, don't think too much and continue with your normal life.

Thank You
