What Is The Prognosis For A Child Who Suffers From Possibility Of Cilla Dyskinesia Conditions?

Question: My nephew aged 5 was born at 24.2 weeks. He has inherited specific antibody deficiency from his mother and will start ivig treatments. He will be tested for the possibility of cilla dyskinesia next month. What is the prognosis for a child who suffers from both conditions?
Brief Answer:
Need to avoid source of infections
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome here,
People with specific antibody deficiency can live a long life. They mostly need clean air and water. Air purification systems can be in place in his room. Water filtered with reverse osmosis technique can be given. Drinking water should be of very low TDS less than 15ppm. Also avoid getting in contact with a person with active infection as much as possible. Antibiotic prophylaxis and immunoglobulins can also be tried. Watch out for the side effects.

If he also tests positive for Ciliary dyskinesia with the immune problem what are his chances of survival?
Brief Answer:
It will add to his issues
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
A positive ciliary dyskinesia will add to the child's issues especially if the dyskinesia is in the organ where he is already getting infections. So it can lower the prognosis accordingly. If the dyskinesia is not in the infected organ, then the chances of survival will remain the same. Fairly long life.
