What Is The Prognosis For Muscle Spasms All Over The Body And Headaches For Over Five Years When Diagnosed With Epilepsy?
The medication that you are using should be reviewed by a neurologist.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Headache typically occurs before a seizure or after tonic-clonic seizure.
Muscle spasms can also be related to epilepsy.
They are named epileptic spasms because are shorter in time than seizures.
So,in my opinion the medication that you are giving to your son must be adjusted because it's not maintaining under control the seizures
It can be changed the dosage of the medication or even the medication itself with an alternative one.
I suggest you to visit a neurologist for:
-a neurological examination
-an electroencephalogram
The neurologist can evaluate the medication that you are using after the examinations.

Thank you very much. Yes, my gut thought perhaps that it would be related to his epilepsy. However, his neurologist has been reluctant to change his meds as he had not had any full focal seizures in 6+ years.
I guess it is time to seek out a second neurological opinion .
Sincerely,
XXXX
