Question: Hi ,I have been prescribed RosuvasF 20 which I understand has Fenofibrate apart from Rosuvastatin. Can i replace this with Crestor 20 which i believe is only rosuvastatin, what purpose does Fenofibrate have.I am not comfortable with Ranbaxy products
Brief Answer:
Alternative brands of drug combination given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr. XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query.
Fenofibrate is particularly effective in lowering a bad cholesterol, called Triglyceride, in addition to lowering cholesterol. Combined with Rosuvastatin, the drug is very effective in lowering all bad cholesterols and also increase the level of 'good cholesterol' called HDL.
It is therefore advisable that you take a combination of both drugs. Since you are not inclined to take Ranbaxy preparation, other alternatives available in the market are :-
LIPIROSE-F (Mankind)
RAZEL-FX (Glenmark)
ROLISTAT-F (FDC)
ROSEDAY-F (USV)
Hope I have addressed your concerns to your complete satisfaction and you find my response helpful and informative. I will be happy to answer further queries, if any.
Take care,
