What Is The Reason For Foul Smell From Behind The Ears?

Question: I bathe daily, including washing behind my ears with soap. However, every day there is a bad smell behind my right ear. There is no bad smell behind my right ear. What could cause this and how could I resolve it?

I appreciate your concern

The area behind the ear is not as exposed and infections can occur at this site. they may be fungal or bacterial infections. Cysts , fistulas and sores should also be looked for in addition to evidence of an allergic reaction or bites eg a tick bite.
Wearing glasses and /or wearing a hat can predispose further to the above conditions. I would advise you to consult a dermatologist to properly examine the area to rule out the above conditions.

If there is there is no dermatological issue then ear examination and Phantosmia workup via An ENT and Neurological consult would be in the pipeline.

I mistyped earlier. There is a bad smell behind my right ear but none behind my left ear. I have no cuts, bruises, cysts or sores behind the ear, but I will check with a dermatologist to see if there is some sort of infection.
