![default](/r/images/default.png)
i normally have a regular period. I have had my period for over 10 years. for some reason I got my period 2 times within 2 weeks. which isnt normal for me
it is polymenorrhoea...causes explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting health care magic.
Polymenorrhoea or frequent menses is a common manifestaion in a woman's menstrual cycle . Some simple causes include stress, excessive exercise, medications or perimenopause. More serious causes include diseases of the pelvic organs especially those with hormonal disturbances like polycystic ovarian disease.
But a single episode of polymenorrhoea is mostly stress related if the previous cycles were regular and the pattern has to be followed for atleast 3months in form of menstrual calendar to identify a cause.
If the pattern continues , then you would have to be evaluated with an ultrasound pelvis, hormonal profile and a per speculum examination by a gynecologist.

you must have missed pills...did you?
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up.
If you are on OC pills then your period should have been on time unless you have missed your pills in the mid cycle, which has initiated the withdrawal.
OC pills are known to regulate the cycle and not cause polymenorrhoea.

missed pills causing withdrawal bleed...explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the follow up.
Well if you have been missing pills then what you are experiencing is withdrawal bleed. if you miss 1 pill then next day you should have 2 together. if you miss two days , then you should have 3 the next day you remember, but if you miss for 3 days then discard the pack completely and use barrier contraception.
Fresh pack may be started from day 1 of withdrawal bleed.
Presently let the bleeding start and then you can start a fresh pack from day 2.
if you have missed the day 2 already then use barrier contraception in this cycle and you may choose to opt for pills in the next cycle.
