Question: Hello doc, my son born with gross hydronephrosis on left kidney. During 45 the day he undergone surgery for the same , and related tests reported improved drainage of urine. Now we done a renal test of left kidney , shows normal in size . It shows mildly reduced perfusion and reduced tracer uptake along a thin cortical rim . Internal tracer transit is delayed and there is progressive tracer pooling in the grossly dialated pcs , which shows slow clearance. No significant tracer retention is seen in the delayed pcs.
Now my son is two years old , kindly recommend any further treatment

Brief Answer:
Nothing needs to be done

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Prior to his birth, your son had developed an obstruction in the urinary tract. The resultant back pressure was responsible for hydronephrosis and damage to his kidneys. Following the surgery, the obstruction has been resolved. All you now see is sequel. Apart from periodic monitoring and follow up I do not think any aggressive management is needed. Unless there is significant deterioration of kidney function nothing needs to be done. If such a thing ever happens treatment will depend upon the underlying cause of deterioration.

Brief Answer:
No active intervention needed

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for providing the reports. There is no obstruction at present. The functional deterioration has already occurred. Now all we can do is to wait hoping for the function to improve. No active intervention needed.
