What Is The Risk Of HIV Infection After Unprotected Intercourse?
Question: I had sex on 18 Feb 2017 midnight with prostitute...I have been to this place it was clean...I had sex with prostitute doggy style I don't know it was anal or vaginal ..She put my penis inside her....Suddenly when I removed I saw tht condom broke ..There was no bleeding...She cleaned my penis with detol soap before the sex and after the sex ..She then cleaned herself....Tell me what is the ratio that's unprotected...I don't know it's anal or vaginal....I am so worried I have not gone home.....Can I take any medicine ...Can u prescribe (prep) or something i cannot go to my family doctor......Please help ...I will get hiv what...Please say......what are the chances first time it happened ...i will get hiv or diseases please say ....please guide..step by step

The risk of getting HIV from single act unprotected intercourse with any one is very less even when the partner is HIV positive also so no need to worry so much about your exposure as the risk is very less.
As such no PEP is required but if you are too much anxious or tensed then consult any HIV specialist in your city for PEP. I will also advice you to go for HIV RNA PCR test after 15 days of your exposure.

The casualty doctor gave you the correct advice of taking Duovir and it is also true that after taking it you can have severe nausea or vomiting for which take Pan-D or Pantop-DSR empty stomach before taking the medicine. For your liver take tab Liv-52 two to three times daily along with PEP medicine.
Apart from these medicines you have to get tested for HIV now and after completion of PEP as per the guidelines of PEP. Also go for CBC, Liver Function Test and Renal Function Test after doctor advice. Don't get feared or scared as the risk is very less. For any further query feel free to ask me any time.
