Question: So I had unprotected oral sex with a girl two nights ago. I am married and this was outside my marriage. What are the chances I had recieved and STD? Should i get tested? Should i start a Prophylaxis antibiotic just to be sure?

To be clear, she performed oral on me. I have a rx for 100 mg of Doxy at home so I could begin that as treatement

Brief Answer:
Get Tested for STD's

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and I have understood it.

Though unprotected oral sex carries a low risk of transmitting an STD, however, unprotected oral sex is definitely not without risk of transmitting an STD.

All the common STDs i.e Herpes, HPV, Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, HIV can be transmitted via oral sex.

I would advice that you see a Dermatologist for a physical examination for any signs of STD's or as and when, if you develop.

It is always better to get a few lab tests after unprotected sexual encounter to rule out HIV (E.g HIV combo test OR RT-PCR Test), Syphilis (VDRL) and Herpes (IGM ELISA).

I won't recommend prophylactic oral doxycycline

Take care
