What Is The Treatment For A 4mm Ascending Thoracic Cord
Question: What is the treatment for a 4mm ascending thoracic cord and what are the dangers of it getting bigger and why are potential risks for my husband
Brief Answer:
You can attach a copy of the original report in the follow-up query.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
There is a slight confusion in your query.
I’m of the opinion that you are referring to ascending thoracic aortic aneurysms (abnormal dilation of blood vessels). The 4mm dilation of the thoracic aorta is not a matter of concern and only follow up is required.
Make sure that the blood pressure is well maintained and uncontrolled hypertension may cause progressive increases in the size and rarely rupture of the aneurysm.
It will be better if you attach/upload the original report in the follow-up query for a detailed review.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks

I apologize that I don’t see how to upload the report. The words I used were what the report called it. Is blood pressure medication the way to control the vessels from enlarging any further? Also, what are the ramifications of further enlargement?
I just saw the link and did upload the report.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Nothing much to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I've checked it.
There is no true enlargement in the major blood vessels.
The diameter is at the high normal but there are no true aneurysmal outpouchings are there. As of now, no definite treatment is required.
Please continue blood pressure medicines to prevent any further damage.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
