coticoline not approved for mild cognitive impairment at this time but.....

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this MCI that you have reported. as of now, the medical community is not settled on what medication can be used to treat patients with MCI. There are no medications approved by the FDA for this. Sone doctors use drugs intended for Alzheimer's disease (a more severe form of dementia ) for this. Unfortunately, this is not the best practice because the benefits are not long lasting and fade away so quickly.

Coticoline is being proposed to manage MCI. This has not been approved. Reports by researchers on this have shown improvement especially in behavior and competence, memory but not attention domain. Unless there is a very big blow to your memory status that you want to take the risk of using an unapproved medication, I will say do not. If this happens to be the last source of hope, then I will say go ahead and use it.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

So there's no supplement you would recommend for memory loss?
If I progress to dementia what treatment would you start with?

Brief Answer:
Eating healthy is the best way forward!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up.

Eating healthy is the best way forward. When you say supplement, it really applies to persons who are don't get enough. This is why eating healthy, exercising often, fruits, and vegetables are good habits to have. No particular supplement would replace these good habits. I know it is a battle because those who make supplements always want to advertise and sell but supplements should not be for everyone.

If you were to have dementia, something I really wish you never have, I will recommend that you try Exelon. However, we re not there and you should not focus on that at this time.

I wish you well.
