What Is The Treatment For Red Sclera After An Eye Injury?

Question: So my brother who wears glasses was hit in the face by a basketball. His glasses flew off and side of nose was scratched up. His sclera is red on the Outer corner of his eye and slightly on the inner corner. The only thing he is complaining about is that a line is following his eye when he looks around

Brief Answer: Hi and welcome to XXXXXXX Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. It doesnt sound like something worrying and serious eye injuries rarely happens after such trauma mechanism. Probably just few conjuctival capillaries have broken and it cant lead to any bad consequances. I dont think this is an emergency but if some other symptoms occurs such as vision lost,blurry vision, double vision, or intensive pain in eye or headache, he should visit hospital. there is no specific treatment but resting in dark room or wearing sunglasses may help to relax eye muscles. Also over-the-counter artificial tears can be applied to the eye if mild irritation is present. Wish you good health. Feel free to ask. Regards
