Brief Answer:
Your sexual contact was largely safe but it would be wise to get tested, specially for Hsv

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist and venereologist)

STDs are usually transmitted by unprotected sexual intercourse i.e either vaginal, anal or oral sex with an infected sexual partner.
Since you had protected vaginal intercourse therefore you were relatively safe. Nonetheless, even though a condom offers near perfect protection against Hiv, it offers less than perfect protection against Hsv (genital herpes), though it does reduce the risk of Hsv as compared to a an unprotected sexual contact.
Using a finger to touch vagina is safe and would not transmit any STD.
Most of the STDs can be detected by 3 months of sexual contact i.e covers the window period for all STDs

Brief Answer:
Genital herpes may cause recurrent sores

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Genital herpes is caused by virus, Herpes simplex virus type 2 (Hsv - 2). It presents as painful genital sores which may be recurrent. The infection once acquired stays for life and can cause recurrent episodes of genital sores. It is commonest type of STD worldwide among sexually active adults. It is not life threatening.
However, there are effective medicines that can treat genital herpes.

Brief Answer:
unprotected oral sex carries the lowest risk but is not entirely safe

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Though oral sex carries the lowest risk but nevertheless performing unprotected oral sex on a female does carry a risk of STD. All STDs i.e (hsv) herpes simplex virus, hiv, hpv (human papilloma virus) as well as throat/ pharyngeal gonorrhea and chlamydia can be acquired through unprotected oral sex with a partner of unknown status. My best advice for you would be to have sexual contact only with a single trustworthy sexual partner who has sex only with you.
