What Kind Of NB UVB Treatment Is Suitable For Vitiligo?

Question: Hello Doctor,

Continuing on from the last discussion regarding my Son XXXX regarding the use of NB UVB treatment for Vitiligo. He most effected areas are forehead, hands, legs and feet. What kind of NB UVB treatment machine will be suitable for him, where can we purchase it and how much (approximately) will it cost? Can we do the treatment at home?

Hand held. NB UVB devices can be procured

Hello. Thank you for writing to me.

You can either take a NB UVB full body chamber Or a hand held NB UVB phototherapy unit for him. Chambers are obviously more expensive and are prefered for whole body/widespread vitiligo.

Dermfix NB-UVB and Waldmann NB-UVB are examples of hand held devices.

You can check them online and also check the cost and if you can order them online directly or contact the company through mail.
Else you can ask your local doctor for details about other hand held NB UVB machines available in your region for home use.
