Brief Answer:
Blood test for AFP
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have gone through your dads blood reports.
Your dads serum haptoglobulin level is high
This indicates some liver disease such as liver cancer or infection, extreme stress, burns, major crush injury or allergy
Low haptoglobulin indicate haemolytic anemia.
I would advise your dad to do blood test for serum alphafetoprotein (AFP), Liver function tests and an MRI of the liver.

But liver cancer I understand has HIGH red blood counts. He has LOW
Brief Answer:
MRI of liver
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Yes, but sometimes in liver cancer, red blood counts could be low too.
That is why MRI of liver and blood and blood test for serum AFP is needed to rule out liver malignancy.

I'm confused why his hematologist did not include this test in all his blood work. Also his iron is very low but normal ferritin and tic with low mcvh a little low also.
Brief Answer:
Microcytic anemia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Low iron with low mcvh is found in microcytic anemia which is iron deficiency anemia due to the low dietary iron intake.
I would advise him to take eggs, liver, fish, meat, pulses, and beans which are a rich dietary source of iron.
