What Kind Of Doctor Usually Treats Sarcoidosis When Diagnosed With Brain And Lymph Node TB?
Question: Hello Doctor,
My mom was diagnosed with Brain and Lymph node TB 2 n half years back but since the TB has not reduced we did tests for sarcoidosis. The results seem like it is sarcoidosis. The neurosurgeon and the dermatologist has recommended to see a rheumatologist.
We are still waiting for the confirmation for sarcoidosis.
My questions are
Since the inflamation is in the brain as well what kind of doctor usually treats sarcoidosis?

Brief Answer:
Neurologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Anshul Varshney, I have read your query in detail, I understand your concern.
In my opinion, Sarcoidosis should be treated by the specialist of the site involved.
For example, if it is in lungs, Pulmonologist treats it. If it is in brain, should be treated by Neurologist. Probably, you are consulting Neurosurgeon, they don't treat Sarcoidosis.
In such case scenario, you should visit a big hospital who has rheumatologist as well as neurologists.
So, a combined team approach would work the best.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
