Brief Answer:
inflammatory or pressure changes in supplying vessels.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, the pulsating artery involving lip can be due to effect of
surrounding inflammation of some sort or secondary to pressure changes involving the
supplying vessels.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query more precisely.

1. Location of pulsating artery involve external or internal surface ?
2. Any noticeable changes in skin color, temperature ?
3. History of fever, sore mouth or fever if any ?
4. Is it visible over the surface or just felt ?
5. History of high BP problem ?

Awaiting for your response.
Regards.

The location is on the inside of my upper lip. The artery is slightly enlarged and I can feel it pulsating I do not have high blood pressure. No fever. I have had ulcers in my mouth after I drink lemon in water. You can see slightly it raised which again is under my top lip. When I say raised, I mean it looks like a small bump enlarged under my top lip.

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the details.

* The possible issue is due to post effect of mouth ulcer, the condition in which body`s
mechanism is to raise the blood supply of the particular regions for faster recovery.

* My guidelines at present

- Drink more liquids.
- Consume high fiber diet.
- Avoid constipation.
- No medications required at present as there is no redness or pain suggestive of acute
inflammation.
- Avoid those food stuffs which require more efforts to chew.

* Keep close watch over the same and do follow up after 3 days about the progress or
early as per the need.

Wish you best health.
Take care.
