Posted on Mon, 6 Jan 2025
Question: My wife tested COVID positive(Antigen test). At present she is feeling normal i.e no fever/throat pain/weakness. 4 days before she was having headache and weakness, When we checked with doctor, he suggested for that its viral fever but we home isolate ourself. I also did same test and result is negative but I am feeling throat pain since morning. I am wall aware of precaution and following same. My question is what medicines should I take for throat pain? Also Should I keep mask 24x7 in next room.

Brief Answer:
Remain isolated....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

What test did you take up - Rapid tests (antigen) or RT PCR?

I am happy to know your wife is getting better. I also understand you've tested negative too. However since you have symptoms of throat pain it would be better to get RT PCR even if rapid (antigen) test is negative.

Yes, keep yourself isolated from others. There is no need to wear a mask even at home but it is important that you stay away from others. Keep isolated until RT PCR is negative.

For throat pain, consider warm salt water gargling or gargling with betadine gargle solution.

Hope this answered all your questions.

Regards
