Brief Answer:
fever, increased heart and respiratory rate, increased WBC

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Bacteremia refers to bacteria present in the blood stream but sepsis refers to your body's response to the presence of this bacteria.
Sepsis causes a severe reaction in the body with - (1) either a very high or abnormally low temperature (either greater than 38 C/100.4 F or less than 36 C/96.8F
(2)increased heart rate, at least greater than 90
(3)increased respiratory rate
(4)extremely high white cell count, greater than 12

For sepsis to be diagnosed , 2 or more of these must be present and the infection must be documented as well.

With a history of recurrent infections, you may want to consider seeing an infection control specialist who may be able to determine why you are having repeat incidences.
Your doctor may be able to refer you to one.

If the sepsis is confirmed, then you need antibiotics as soon as possible if you are not currently using any.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

I am currently taking cefuroxime for the salivary gland infection. Saw doctor today wants to do cat scan. Does not see any reason to test for sepsis. So thank you for your information
