default
Posted on Thu, 18 Aug 2016
Question: Hello,
My son is 4 & half months and we are planning to board a flight in the coming 2 weeks. Could you please advice on the precautions to be taken with the infant as it would be his first time travel. Also he is on mother's feed and not on top feed/water yet.
Kindly advice.

Brief Answer:
Precautions similar to that in any other sort of travel.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I understand your concerns but let me assure you that going on a flight with a child is like going on any other car trip. If you mention it to the airlines personnel, they would assign you a child friendly seat with child restraint systems. You need to pack the things properly. Plan the hand baggage in advance and Diapers are important and since most diapers can stay dry for several hours, you might not need to change them in the flight. You need to ensure proper dress and blanket to keep the baby warm. I do not think that you need to worry about the pressure differences as intermittent breast feeding during the flight should take care of the matters. Alternatively, you can use pacifiers.
