What Precautions Should Be Taken Incase Of Liver Damage?
. Thank you Doctor
A patient.
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Since you have not sent the details of your reports,I am going to reply in general terms.
Normally it is very unusual for a patient to develop serious liver damage by the use of statins because liver function test are regularly performed on people taking it.
In general the use of statins result in mild elevations of liver enzymes like SGOT and SGPT.This mild elevation generally becomes normal on continued consumption of statins.
However if the level of enzymes rise three times above the upper limit, then statins are stopped.
Your liver enzymes turn to normal levels once the statins are stopped.
There is nothing to get alarmed as liver damage is only temporary.
There is no other treatment which is given for this.
Avoid alcohol and take more of fresh fruits and green vegetables.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
