Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX
AC environment can be very bad for the nose and sinuses.
AC air is not only very cold but very very dry. It is very low in humidity.
Three types of problems can arise from prolonged exposure to Ac environment.
1) The sinuses open into the nose through narrow tubes. Prolonged exposure to cold and dry air leads to swelling of mucosa lining these openings. When the openings close, the sinuses become closed cavities producing heaviness and headache and facial pain.
2) Prolonged exposure to dry and cold air predisposes the nose to infections leading to recurrent rhinitis and sinusitis.
3) Fungal spores can be present in AC ducts and vents. Symptoms of nose block and heaviness can develop if you are allergic to fungus.
Only examination of your nose and sinuses can tell the exact cause of the problem.
I have seen your prescription, your doctor has put you on allergy medication. Your examination has probably revealed allergy. Follow the instructions of your doctor. Furamist cannot be used in adhoc basis. It has to be used everyday. It is a safe drug.
Along with the medicines follow some general measures.
1) Sit as far away from the AC duct as possible.
2) Keep drinking water continuously when in AC environment to avoid dehydration.
3) You can keep an electric steamer in your chamber. It humidifies the environment.

Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
