What Precutions Should Be Taken To Avoid Diabetes?

If yes, then what precautions I can take in my daily routine food habits.
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
A person can do lot of things to prevent diabetes,if his both the parents are diabetic.
If a single parent is diabetic who got the disease before the age of 50,then your risk of getting is 1 in 7.It becomes 1 in 13 if one of the parents got the diabetes after the age of 50 years.
If both your parents are diabetic, then your risk of getting diabetes is 1 in 2.
This simply means that there is 50% chance that you will develop diabetes sometimes in your life, however there is nothing to despair.
Lifestyle plays a huge role in developing as well as preventing diabetes.
Proper nutrition and regular exercises can significantly reduce the risk of developing diabetes.
Do the following..
1.. Do regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes a day and try to aim to come in normal range of your BMI.
2.. Avoid sweets,colas,junk foods,deep fried foods,red meat etc.
3.. Consume more of fresh fruits and green vegetables.
4... Quit smoking,if you are a smoker.
5.. Reduce your alcohol to less than 2 small drinks a day,if you are a habitual alcoholic.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
